White Lotus Season 2 locations you should visit!
If you're anything like us, you have found yourself completely engrossed in the latest season of The White Lotus, which takes place in the stunning Italian island of Sicily. As we follow the guests of the resort through their various dramas and scandals, we also can't help but be enchanted by the breathtaking scenery that surrounds them. From the rugged cliffs of Taormina to the pristine beaches of San Vito Lo Capo, there's no shortage of stunning spots to explore and soak in the Mediterranean beauty of this idyllic island. So grab your passport and get ready to embark on a journey that's sure to be just as thrilling and glamorous as the show itself!
Taormina
This hilltop town in the north-east of Sicily is where you’ll find the White Lotus or IRL, the San Domenico Palace, a Four Seasons Hotel. Perched on a rocky promontory high above the Ionian Sea, the iconic San Domenico Palace welcomes you to a 14th-century convent reimagined. Swim in the clifftop infinity pool, stroll in magnificent Italian gardens, soak in the history, savour Michelin-starred dining and escape into a world of timeless beauty. Stay a few nights and experience the lavish lifestyle of Tanya Mc-Kwaaad and the other guests of the White Lotus.
Ancient Theatre of Taormina
On the ill-fated trip of the Di Grasso family to Sicily, one of their first stops was a majestic ancient theater that still stands today. This particular amphitheater has been remarkably well-preserved for centuries, and if you choose your seat wisely, the backdrop of Mount Etna looms impressively in the distance.
If you visit during the right season, you may even have the opportunity to attend a performance and immerse yourself in the rich cultural history of the region, as though you were living in ancient times.
Bam Bar
Valentina's go-to spot for a morning caffeine fix is this charming café-bar, where she can sip on a delicious espresso before starting her day. While the coffee is certainly noteworthy, we highly recommend trying the house specialty: granita. This frozen treat, with its unique crystal-like texture, is like sorbet's cooler cousin and is not to be missed. For the full experience, indulge in the traditional pairing of granita with brioche and whipped cream for breakfast. And as you enjoy your morning meal, take in the stunning sun-themed tilework that decorates the space, making for a truly dreamy start to your day.
Isola Bella
Do you recall the eerie tale Quentin shared about the small island near the beach? It goes by the name of Isola Bella, or the Pearl of the Ionian Sea, and its natural beauty truly lives up to its moniker. With its verdant green trees and rugged rock formations that seem to hold countless secrets, this island is a sight to behold. Though it's currently closed to visitors, you can still experience its allure by taking a cable car ride from town down to the beach. From there, soak up the sun or quench your thirst with an authentic Sicilian lemonade at one of the beachfront bars, taking in the mesmerizing views of Isola Bella from afar.
Corso Umberto
While Ethan often blows off steam with a solitary morning jog down an empty Corso Umberto, this charming street is typically bustling with locals and tourists browsing its many quaint boutiques. For a delicious treat, head to Piazza Duomo and indulge in a generous scoop of gelato while taking in the stunning views of the Ionian Sea. Or, if you're seeking a more exclusive vantage point, venture uphill to the Continental Hotel and make your way up to the Sky Rooftop Bar. With its chic White Lotus-inspired decor, this trendy spot offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, and you need not be a guest of the hotel to enjoy a refreshing beverage. Sit back, relax, and savor the picturesque sunset as you sip on the aptly named Etna Samba or the Negroni Beer Mistake (which, trust us, is no mistake at all).
Noto
Unlike Harper, if you have the good fortune of finding a travel companion with whom you actually want to visit Noto, then it is undoubtedly a trip worth taking. This quaint city is characterized by its pale yellow churches, each one so picturesque that you'll want to snap a photo from every possible angle. In addition to these stunning architectural gems, there are also plenty of relaxed coffee shops and restaurants where you can spend hours observing the ebb and flow of everyday life in a Sicilian city.
You can even stay in the Palazzo that Daphne & Harper stayed in, although you will have to travel to Palermo as that is where the villa is located IRL. The luxurious villa depicted on the show is just as extravagant in real life. Complete with four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms, there's ample space to accommodate a group of friends.
Palermo
While you may not have the chance to attend one of Quentin's extravagant soirées, there is no shortage of exciting activities to experience in Palermo. During the day, be sure to explore the lush botanical gardens of Villa Giulia, but as Jack assures Portia, it's at night when the city truly comes alive. Slip into your finest attire for a night at the illustrious Teatro Massimo to take in an opera that rivals Tanya's electric energy, or dive right into the lively scene at the numerous bars in the Old Town. With so much excitement to be had, you may even find yourself wishing for the night to never end...
