TRAVEL UPDATE: New Travel Authorization Requirements for the UK, France, and Italy
Planning travel in 2025? Stay ahead with the latest updates to ensure a smooth journey!
Travel to the United Kingdom (UK)
Starting January 8, 2025, visa-exempt travelers, including those from the US and Canada, must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter or transit through the UK.
Application Timing: Apply at least 30 days before your trip to allow for processing.
Cost: £10
Validity: Two years or until passport expires.
How to Apply:
Download the UK ETA App (available on App Store and Google Play)
Apply online: UK ETA Application Portal
Note: An ETA allows you to travel to the UK but does not guarantee entry. Final permission is granted by an immigration officer.
Travel to France & Italy (Schengen Area)
The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) launches in Spring 2025 for visa-exempt travelers visiting the Schengen Area, including France and Italy.
Who Needs ETIAS: Non-EU/EEA citizens who don't require a visa for short stays.
Application Timing: Apply at least one month before travel for a quick approval process.
Cost: €7 (waived for travelers under 18 or over 70).
Validity: Three years or until passport expires.
How to Apply: Complete the application online through the ETIAS Portal.
