Los Cabos Guide

Mexico has always been an hot destination for Americans...whether its the ease of accessibility or the great value, vacationers can't seem to get enough!

I have traveled extensively to many Mexican destinations, however I had yet to find myself in Los Cabos taking in the views of the Pacific. The first thing I noticed once getting into Los Cabos was the cleanliness and laid back vibe in comparison to Mexico's other top destination, Cancun. It didn't hurt that I was greeted by my good friend Dom (Pérignon) and a neck massage during my check-in process at the Grand Velas Resort!

Grand Velas Resort

The Grand Velas Resort Los Cabos is an all-inclusive resort at a luxury level. For some, the word all-inclusive can be negative, remninding one of the 'spring break crowd'. Grand Velas has done a beautiful job in maintaining the level of luxury associated with a 5 star property, while running as an all-inclusive.
The Grand Velas brand is well known for their kids program, and now I see why...Your little travelers can take a new approach to camping! But I was surprised with how well the resort was laid out to ensure other guests aren't disturbed by the younger crowd. During the low seasons, I highly recommend this property to couples looking for a romantic getaway at a great value!
No stay at the Grand Velas is complete without a visit to the Spa!

Waldorf Astoria’s Pedregal

Seeking a truly authentic experience in the heart of Los Cabos? My next stop was exactly that!
I loved the warm Mexican feel that greeted me upon arrival at the Waldorf Astoria's Pedregal. Each room is equipped with beautiful wood accents to enhance the vibrant colors throughout.

A MUST while you are on property is enjoy the sunset. I recommend doing so from either this private pool or from the properties romantic restaurant set within the sea side cliffs.

Non hotel guests are allowed at the restaurant and you would be missing out if you didn't visit, even if just for an evening. You start your night at the champagne tasting bar and are then escorted to your table, with a stop at the local catch display. The chef explains all the local catch from the day and the preparations...In typical fashion, I could not decide between the numerous options so the chef brought me a sampling platter of every item. I was blown away by the different flavors I never even made it to the sides! Pedregal, whether for a stay or an epic meal, should be on your Cabo bucket list!

Las Ventanas al Paraiso, a Rosewood Resort

Keeping with the local Mexican decor, Las Ventanas was next on the itinerary. With no flashy signs at the entrance, you know you have reached the luxurious and exclusive property.
I was happy to report, I was greeted again with a massage upon arrival and a specialty cocktail. Every turn at Las Ventanas lead to an iconic picture seen on Instagram by world famous bloggers.

I took my turn at the IG model life and, due mainly to my surrounding scene, finally understood the hype. Aside from the photo ops, I also fell in LOVE with Las Ventanas villa options. I don't think words will do this one justice, so here...enjoy some pictures of the most amazing Cabo Villa!

Las Ventanas even has its own Director of Romance!

Montage Los Cabos

I was then off to one of the only swimmable beaches in Los Cabos, located at the Montage Los Cabos. Cabo has a unique desert like climate and landscape, which Montage takes full advantage of on it's grounds. Feel like a celeb from the second you pull up to Montage...

With access to multiple restaurants, an amazing spa and wellness program, upscale fitness center, on property shopping, and exciting kids program, you never feel the need to leave the property.

Stop in the local bistro and grab a Popsicle, or visit the properties shop 'Eclectic Array', or take part in an exclusive Montage experience, like this release of turtle hatchlings into the bay.

One stay at Montage Los Cabos and you will be booking your next stay before you even leave!

The Cape, a Thompson Hotel

I ended my time in Cabo on a different note and headed over to The Cape for a more modern and vibrant vibe!

The Thompson properties are always stunning and dynamic properties and The Cape is no exception. The sleek design is only outdone by the best view in Cabo, which must be taken in from the 'Rooftop'. Grab a cocktail and enjoy the sunset as the local DJ sets the mood.

With your added amenity of $100 F&B credit...be sure to visit the 'Chef's Table' star: chef Enrique Olvera's restaurant, Manta, and be impressed by the Mexican fused delights.
Wake up and grab a coffee or perhaps breakfast while watching the morning surfers catch their first waves. Then head to the infinity pool and soak up the Cabo sun!

Los Cabos, I will be back!
